    12th June 2013:

    Unemployment figures in Pendle fall:

New unemployment figures for May 2013 were published today at 9.30am by the Office for National Statistics.

The number of unemployed claimants in Pendle in May 2013 was 1,934. This represents a rate of 4.6% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64.  The number of claimants is 202 lower than in May 2012 and 59 lower than in April 2013.

Unemployment nationally has now fallen seven months in a row and I am pleased to once again see unemployment fall in Pendle.  The Jobs Fair aims to give practical advice and help to those still out of work and is open to anyone locally who thinks they could benefit.
